The Perfect PSA

The new Public Service Announcement released last week by the Sandy Hook Promise advocacy group has taken over our news feeds and I personally, couldn’t be happier about it.

I’m happy to see the victims of this unthinkable tragedy make an impact on our hearts and minds without the added political agenda. If there is one thing that can drive away viewers it’s your personal opinion on sensitive topics such as this.

Nicole Hockley (@NicoleHockley) is the mother of Dylan Hockley who tragically fell a victim in the Sandy Hook school shooting in 2012.  Ms. Hockley so brilliantly stated in an interview on Good Morning America that “we wanted to create consumer awareness, plain and simple,” and “this is not a hopeless issue. There are things that you can do in your own community, in your own school to prevent violence.”

Take away the fact that I am the mother of two small children, one of which is in public school and take away my pro-second amendment views. You still have an impartial PSA that was extraordinarily executed.
